Control-ing Laminators
Spain-based Simon Corrugated Machinery has been manufacturing Control-ing® Laminators since last October. The laminators work from a reel of singleface corrugated board rather then a sheet. This ability also allows the machines to run directly inline with a singleface corrugator equipped with the appropriate fluting rollers, such as E-, F-, G- and B-flute. In the complete configuration, the machines can laminate offset printed sheets onto the singleface web, as well as reels of preprinted liner onto this web and even offset printed sheets onto corrugated board in sheets. One of the most interesting options is the double pocket flip/flop stacker, which not only returns the handfuls of sheets, but also rises them to a higher lever so that a ramp arrangement of the drying belt can be avoided. The line is totally modular: A plant could start with a simple sheet-to-sheet laminator and end up with a complete inline singleface corrugator with several flutes — without throwing away any of the previous elements. .
