Billionaire investor Carl Icahn has raised his stake in containerboard and box producer Temple-Inland Inc. (T-I), Austin, Texas, to 9.8 percent, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
He reported ownership of 10.4 million shares. Last October he reported owning 9.4 million shares, representing an 8.9 percent interest.
Early this year Icahn dropped his plan to pursue board representation after T-I agreed to spin off its financial and real estate businesses and sell its timberland.
