AICC Mexico Holds Seventh Annual Meeting

Official Board Markets

The Association of Independent Corrugated Converters (AICC) Mexico held its seventh annual meeting April 24-25 in Monterrey, Mexico. More than 140 members and suppliers attended the two-day event, which included training for corrugated sales managers, plant tours, a trade fair, and speakers on the North American containerboard market, improving plant efficiency, and sustainability. AICC Mexico Regional Director Juan Javier Gonzalez, president of Cajas y Empaques Modernos in Mexico City, hosted the meeting.

The theme of the meeting was “sustainable business.” To open the program, 65 sales managers and senior sales representatives from AICC Mexico members attended the Sales Managers’ Forum, facilitated by Jack O’Connor. The day-long program focused on sales management techniques, understanding customer needs, and developing a company-wide approach to sales.

Following the forum, members toured the facilities of Carton Sultana, located in neighboring Santa Catarina. Marco Ferrara, president of Cajas de Carton Sultana, welcomed the group to its graphics converting operation, while Francisco Trevino, general manager, guided a second group through the corrugator and brown box operation nearby. The first day concluded with a trade fair featuring 30 exhibitors and a cocktail reception for AICC Mexico members. The program continued on Friday, April 25, with sessions focused on the containerboard market and plant operations.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Gonzalez, whose term as regional director expires in the fall, thanked the members for the opportunity to serve and introduced his successor, Marco Ferrara, president of Cajas de Carton Sultana.
