The Unicorr Packaging Group, North Haven, Conn., appoints Bruce W. Armentrout to be responsible for representing the company in Eastern New York and Western New England. Armentrout, who resides in Williamstown, Mass., has 18 years of industry experience — most recently as director of sales at William H. Ebel & Son.

Bill Dorn of Naperville, Ill., has been named as vice president of sales for the Lamican Total Packaging Solutions (TPS) converted packaging products sales group for North America.

Based in Anaheim, Calif., Lamican TPS converts paper and paperboard packaging and currently serves markets in Europe and Asia. In addition to folding cartons, microflute, and corrugated containers, Lamican also manufactures equipment and materials for an aseptic liquid and beverage system.

Toronto-based Materials Management Group (MMG), the brokerage division of METRO Waste Paper Recovery Inc., hires Mike Muza as the new brokerage and market development representative in the Atlanta office. He is responsible for managing and developing new business in the Southeast, U.S., with the main emphasis in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, Georgia, and the Carolinas.

Muza has more than 20 years in the industry, focusing on mill and plant procurement and brokerage.

BHS Corrugated North America Inc. appoints Gregory A. Wolf as president and ceo. He brings more than 15 years of capital equipment development, sales, and service experience to his new position.

Wolf will focus on growing BHS Corrugated’s existing position in North America. The position includes responsibilities for BHS Corrugated North America Inc. in Baltimore; Corrugating Roll Corp. in Knoxville, Tenn.; and Adhesive Mixing Equipment LLC in Manheim, Pa.

Wolf most recently served as president of Gerber Scientific Products, a subsidiary of Gerber Scientific Inc. in South Windsor, Conn. He also previously worked for FMC Technologies in Chicago, Hong Kong, and Helsingborg, Sweden. Wolf received his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan, and his master’s in business administration degree from the University of Chicago.

BHS Corrugated North America is a subsidiary of BHS Corrugated GmbH.

Gregory C. Erickson has joined the Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) staff as vice president of marketing and communications. He is former editor-in-chief of Packaging magazine, and was founder, editor and publisher of ShelfPresence, a monthly international newsletter on R&D, marketing and sales strategies for consumer packaged goods. His experience includes work as director of communications and education for the Institute of Packaging Professionals, and coverage of supply-chain and logistics issues as director of communications for the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors.

Andrew Cripps is the new senior account executive with The Grossman Group (TGG), Westerville, Ohio. He was formerly employed as the director of Union Recyclers in Marysville, Ohio, and as the Central Ohio recycling representative for Columbus, Ohio-based Rumpke of Ohio Inc.

Cripps is the current president of the Association of Ohio Recyclers (AOR), and has been involved in the recycling industry for 14 years in both West Virginia and Ohio.

Box making industry veteran Meyer Ruthenberg, product manager, KBA North America, York, Pa., passed away on March 15 of pancreatic cancer. He joined KBA in 2002. Before that he worked for many years at United Container Machinery, Baltimore, and United Agnati.

Bob Roach, senior parts coordinator, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) Corrugating Machinery Division, passed away suddenly on March 5. He joined the company in April 1987 and worked closely with many of MHI’s customers.
