According to the Australian Broadcasting Corp., the Australian state of New South Wales has approved a $371 million expansion of Visy Industries’ recycled linerboard mill in Tumut. The planned project is said to include the installation of a second paper machine and the expansion of pulping capacity. Overall capacity would grow from 300,000 metric tons a year to 700,000 metric tons a year, with much of the feed stock using wood offcuts, waste and recycled paper, according to the report. The project would create 900 jobs during the construction phase and 50 jobs at the mill itself.
